Speaking on The Beautiful Game Podcast, Leeds United ace Tyler Roberts has been speaking about his future at Elland Road.
The Wales international established himself as one of Marcelo Bielsa’s most important players towards the end of the season, but it wasn’t too long ago that he was linked with a move away from the Yorkshire club.
However, it now sounds as though Roberts looks set to stay at Leeds for the foreseeable future, claiming that positive talks have taken place between his agent and the club.
What’s been said?
Roberts says his agent has had a chat with the higher-ups at Leeds, claiming that he’s very happy at the club and everything has been positive so far.
“I think my agent has had a talk with them about what is going to happen in the future. I think it is one of them that the season has been so close to ending, that you stay focused on the last few games. It is all positive. I’m very happy at Leeds. I like the city, the fans, the experiences are great. I’m happy,” Roberts said.
One for the future
At just 22 years old, Roberts is one for the future, and keeping him at Leeds is a wise move from the club.
Sadly, Roberts hasn’t had the best of records in terms of goals and assists this term, but he’s been fantastic in recent weeks, especially when he’s played in a more advanced role.
Marcelo Bielsa is brilliant at coaching players and improving young stars, and Roberts still has years of development ahead of him.
