The Middlesbrough winger has joined Leeds on loan, after a short spell at Huddersfield.
Middesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol has expressed his joy on Twitter after sealing a loan move to Leeds United.
The 27-year-old was on loan at Huddersfield Town earlier this season and has now moved to Elland Road, thanking fans for their welcome messaages and showing a desire to hit the ground running.
Carayol’s excitement seems to counteract his facial expression upon joining Leeds…
Many have joked that it’s Aaron Lennon all over again, with the 27-year-old looking a little grumpy while posing with the Leeds shirt. Nevertheless, the on-loan Middlesbrough winger is likely excited about giving his all at Elland Road.
Huddersfield fans seem to have mixed opinions when discussing Carayol; during his loan spell with the Championship side, the wide man didn’t make a huge impact, although United’s need for wingers means he should certainly come in handy.
Will Buckley’s loan spell at Leeds was a disappointment, while Jordan Botaka is yet to thrive. Ideally for the Whites, Carayol will perform himself as well as drive the level of others up by competing with them for a starting berth.
There isn’t that much of a risk factor involved, either. He is out of contract with Middlesbrough in the summer – meaning Leeds could try to sign him then for a free or move on if his loan spell doesn’t work out.
