Leeds United were given their first reality check on Monday when Leicester City smashed four past them. Marcelo Bielsa’s men, even in defeat, didn’t look too bad, but small margins cost them, and that’s exactly what the Premier League is all about.
The Whites, despite the defeat, are in a very strong position. Leeds have won three and have drawn one of their first seven games, and if they can keep that up, they will remain far away from the relegation zone.
One of the biggest positives on Monday was the return of Liam Cooper. The Scotsman returned from international duty with a groin problem, and missed games against Wolves and Aston Villa as a result.
With another international break right around the corner, Leeds fans were hoping that Cooper will be given some time off due to his recent injury problems, but their prayers have not been answered.
Scotland announced their squad to face Serbia, Israel and Slovakia today, and Cooper is very much a part of it. The defender will join his national side after this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, and that has annoyed a number of Leeds supporters.

Many fans feel that their skipper is being risked unnecessarily. Cooper has only just returned from a groin problem, and international breaks are never too kind on clubs with respect to injuries to key players.
Here’s how a few Leeds fans reacted to Scotland’s announcement
