Aston Villa and Leeds fans on Twitter want Rico Henry signed up after his Brentford side were beaten 2-1 against Fulham in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Despite the Bees missing out on a Premier League spot, Henry was a constant threat on the left-hand side and the young full-back caught the eye of Villa and Leeds supporters.

Both clubs will be looking to add quality and numbers to their squad during this window, as they will be locking horns in England’s top-flight next season.

Dean Smith’s men survived relegation on the final day of the Premier League season, whilst Marcelo Bielsa masterminded one of the great promotions for the Yorkshire giants.

There’s no doubt that a number of the Brentford players will be on the wishlist of Premier League clubs, especially the attacking duo Said Benrahma and Ollie Watkins.

But it was Henry who impressed last night, as the rapid left-back was an outlet for a Thomas Frank team that struggled to cause havoc in the oppositions final third like they usually do.

Birmingham-born Henry has worked with Smith at Walsall and during his time at Griffin Park, so he could potentially follow his former boss to B6 also.

But equally, Leeds need to look at their left-hand side and a player of Henry’s quality would suit Bielsa’s system.

Here is a selection of Villa and Leeds fans reacting to Henry’s performance from yesterday:
