One Everton star was so unrecognisable during his Euro 2024 performance that French journalist Julien Laurens believes his twin brother was on the pitch.
Everton players competing at this summer’s Euros have not got off to the best start with Vitaliy Mykolenko‘s Ukraine side eliminated from their group on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, Jordan Pickford and Amadou Onana have faced criticism with England and Belgium both performing well below pre-tournament expectations.
Belgium narrowly squeezed into the play-offs after finishing second in Group E to Romania and they faced a nervy finish in their goalless draw to Ukraine.
They are now set to face tournament favourites France in the round of 16 on Monday afternoon.
Everton’s Amadou Onana will expect to be involved, but he didn’t exactly make himself undroppable during the draw against Ukraine.

Amadou Onana for Belgium at Euro 2024
Onana is clearly a crucial part of Domenico Tedesco’s plans with the midfielder playing every available minute at the Euros for Belgium so far.
However, journalist Julien Laurens was quick to criticise Onana in his reaction to the Ukraine draw.
Speaking on ESPN, Laurens said: “With [Youri] Tielemans and Onana, I’m not sure what happened to them.
“But it must be their twin brothers. It is just ridiculous the level [of performance].”
Tielemans, also referenced, was slammed as ‘anonymous’ in the Belgian media.
Amadou Onana’s future at Everton
There is no question that Onana’s future at Everton is uncertain with clubs circling for his signature.

Everton may balance their books by parting ways with the 22-year-old but a poor performance at the Euros will only lower their asking price.
However, he has also received praise for his performances in Germany with former Everton teammate Conor Coady praising Onana for his role in this Belgium side.
