West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Evening Standard revealed that Declan Rice could be involved against Burnley.

The 22-year-old hasn’t played since England’s 2-1 win over Poland on March 31st, after damaging him knee in the victory at Wembley.

As covered by the Guardian, Rice’s participation at EURO 2021 was in doubt after the injury, and three weeks out was considered the best case scenario.

Now, the Evening Standard believe he could return to the field on Monday when the Irons travel to Turf Moor to face Sean Dyche’s men.

If this is true, it would be a massive boost for the Hammers at just the right time.

West Ham have just suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League after losing to Newcastle and Chelsea.

David Moyes’ men are still in with a shot of reaching the Champions League, although they really need to beat the Clarets.

If they lose, and Chelsea win, the east Londoners will find themselves six points off the top four.

With only four games to go after Monday’s clash, that could be too much to make up.

However, having Rice back in the XI would improve their chances of winning significantly.

West Ham’s No.41 had started every Premier League game this season before his injury, scoring once and assisting once in his 29 starts.

He is an absolutely pivotal member of West Ham’s first-team, and they should improve substantially once he’s back.

Let’s see how the West Ham fans on Twitter reacted to the Evening Standard‘s news…
