Arsenal fans have loved hearing Thierry Henry back Dennis Bergkamp over Lionel Messi this week.

Arsenal allegiance on display

While speaking to CBS, Henry claimed that his former Arsenal teammate was better than even Messi.

He was asked who the greatest player he ever played alongside was, and Henry immediately responded: “Dennis Bergkamp.”

Presenter Kate Abdo then queried the Arsenal legend’s response, but he was not to be put off, and again repeated the name of the Dutchman.

It was a reply which once again highlighted Henry’s strong allegiance to the Gunners.

And Arsenal fans loved hearing Henry backing Bergkamp over anybody else.

Bergkamp at Arsenal

Bergkamp, of course, remains a legend at Arsenal – where he was such an entertainer.

The Dutchman was blessed with wonderful poise and was a key reason behind Arsenal’s success under Arsene Wenger.

Bergkamp’s partnership with Henry remains one of the most dangerous front-pairings the Premier League has ever seen.

In total Bergkamp made 423 appearances for Arsenal, and he managed to score 120 goals during that time.
