Rangers go up against Hamilton on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox.

Graeme Murty has told Rangers TV, as quoted by BBC Sport, that his Light Blues must be “aggressive” and “dominant” from the off if they are to earn three points against Hamilton.

Murty, 43, takes charge of his third game in his second spell as interim manager of the Scottish giants, as the Gers play host to Martin Canning’s Hamilton at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers have enjoyed plenty of success against Hamilton in their last three matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding just one after already beating Canning’s side this season 4-1.

Goals from Daniel Candeias and Graham Dorrans as well as a Declan John brace proved too much for Hamilton in September, and Murty wants that similar kind of attacking tenacity on Saturday, such as last season’s 6-0 win at Ibrox.

“I was proud of what the players did that day [the 6-0 win against Hamilton] because they took what could have been a tricky game and they really owned it,” Murty said.

“That is the mind-set we need to have at home, that we are going to win every game, we have to be aggressive and dominant and try and score as many as we can.

“And if it doesn’t come off, we are going have lots of chances and we are going to get the fans out of their seats because we are going to be camped in and around their 18-yard box.”

Rangers Head Coach Graeme Murty looks on during The Scottish FA Youth Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park on April 26, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Gers will be buoyed by the return of Portuguese defender Fabio Cardoso, after the 23-year-old started and played for an hour of Rangers’ 4-0 win over Berwick Rangers on Wednesday night for Steven Notman’s testimonial.

Three points and Murty’s third win in charge will strengthen his claims for the permanent role, and could also see the Gers go second if Aberdeen lose to Motherwell and Hibernian slip up against St. Johnstone.
