Rangers take on Aberdeen at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Head coach Graeme Murty of Scottish club Rangers FC calls a play during the second half of their game against Brazilian club Corinthians during their Florida Cup soccer game at Orlando...

Graeme Murty will have a number of huge decisions to make to his Rangers starting line-up as he prepares his side to face Aberdeen in a hugely important Scottish Premiership clash.

The Light Blues have confirmed deals for five players this month, making Declan John’s loan move permanent as well as luring Russell Martin, Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings to Ibrox on loan this month.

Murty has also brought back Andy Halliday from his loan with Azerbaijani side FK Gabala as well as Michael O’Halloran from St. Johnstone, in what is a new-look Rangers side that has also waved goodbye to Carlos Pena.

The 43-year-old boss oversaw Rangers consecutive wins over Aberdeen back in November and December, winning 3-0 at Ibrox and 2-1 at Pittodrie as Murty used a diamond formation.

Despite signing winger Jamie Murphy, the Gers should look to use that system for a third time against Derek McInnes’ side after it worked so well during their last two encounters against the Dons.

That should see Murty combine top scorer Alfredo Morelos with new signing Cummings, in order to get the most out of in-form ace Josh Windass in the number 10 role.

Windass, 24, has shone for the Glasgow outfit this season, most recently playing as a striker as he as found the back of the net six times in 20 Scottish Premiership matches.

But it is his creativity that has come on leaps and bounds, adding five strikes as assists and Murty should take advantage of that by playing him behind the two strikers against Aberdeen.

Moving him slightly deeper from his previous position as a striker to attacking midfield will see Cummings start, and Windass shine in between the lines with Pena in Mexico with Pedro Caixinha’s Cruz Azul.

If Murty indeed opts to line-up in such a way, then Rangers will surely make it three out of three and climb into second place behind Old Firm rivals Celtic.
