Ibrox manager Graeme Murty is set to take charge of his fourth game as Rangers interim boss against Dundee.
Graeme Murty has urged the Rangers board to hurry up and appoint someone when speaking to the Daily Record, as it is almost a month since they decided to sack Pedro Caixinha.
Rangers parted company with Portuguese boss Caixinha on October 26, and the Gers are still some way from appointing his successor with a move for Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes yet to materialise.
The likes of Alex McLeish, Alan Pardew, Sam Allardyce and many more have been linked with the vacant job, including even caretaker manager Murty who has won two of his three games in charge.
Speaking ahead of Friday night’s trip to Dens Park to face Dundee, Murty stated that the Rangers hierarchy must appoint a new manager sooner rather than later – whether that is himself or someone else.
“It would be good for all involved if we had someone in place, whether that be me or someone else,” Murty said.
“But until that happens we are coping. We are actually moving forward. The players are working extremely hard. They are doing their bit – that’s all they can think about.
“I can’t think about it (the search for a new manager) either so if there is people outwith the club speculating and saying things, they can crack on. We’ll just make sure that things in-house are taken care of properly.”
Murty had beaten Hearts and Partick Thistle since stepping into Caixinha’s shoes on an interim basis, before losing to Hamilton at home on the weekend despite being expected to win.
He will be hoping to see his squad put that right on Friday night as they go up against Dundee. Rangers have already beaten Neil McCann’s side this season, with Carlos Pena, Josh Windass and an Alfredo Morelos brace earning a 4-1 victory over The Dee.
