Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic will win the treble this season, says Murdo MacLeod.
Murdo MacLeod has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Celtic will win the treble this season.
The former Celtic midfielder, who is 58 years of age, believes that the Bhoys have what it takes to win the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup this campaign.
“You would like to think they will win the Treble this year,” MacLeod told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“Obviously, it will be a tough game against Aberdeen a week on Sunday because they have been a strong side for the past two years and the main challenges.
“But I just think a cup final at Hampden with Brendan Rodgers looking for his first trophy Celtic will be up for the game.”
“In the past it was ‘don’t mention the Treble’ until the first trophy was won and I think the way the team has been playing there is every chance,” added MacLeod.
Celtic are firm favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title this season. Brendan Rodgers’s side are at the top of the league table at the moment with 31 points from 11 matches.
The Glasgow giants are 10 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen with a game in hand.
The Hoops will fancy their chances of winning against Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish League Cup later this month.
Celtic will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Kilmarnock away from home at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership.
The Bhoys will head into the game this evening with confidence and should be able to pick up all three points with relative ease.
Celtic will face Spanish giants Barcelona at Celtic Park in Champions League Group C next week.
