Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in signing Archie Gray from Leeds United.
That is according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano in his Daily Briefing where he has claimed how Liverpool view Gray.
So, what is being reported about Liverpool, Leeds United and Archie Gray? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, according to Fabrizio Romano in his Daily Briefing, Liverpool are interested in signing Leeds United teenager Archie Gray.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Liverpool have scouted Gray in action for Leeds a number of times this season.
Gray is a midfielder by trade, but the 17-year-old has been deployed at right-back in recent matches. And he has been hugely impressive.
Romano said: “Archie Gray – An impressive young player at Leeds United, Liverpool have sent their scouts to follow Archie Gray multiple times.
“They are not the only club as many teams appreciate him and keep tracking Archie, but for sure Liverpool are one of them. There’s no bid or concrete negotiation at this stage, but they appreciate the player.”
Liverpool need to pay big money for Leeds United youngster Archie Gray
Just because Leeds United are now playing in the Championship does not mean that Liverpool will be able to sign Archie Gray with ease.
According to The Daily Mail, Leeds value Gray at between £40 million and £50 million.
Now, I personally do not think that Gray is worth £40 million. After all, he is only 17 and is playing in the second tier of English football.

Liverpool simply cannot pay £40 million for a player who has just ‘potential’ and is not proven yet. However, if Leeds won promotion to the Premier League, then they would be able to turn down offers for Gray.
Gray has made 13 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season. The English youngster has also made two appearances in the Carabao Cup for the Whites.
Meanwhile, 90min has reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Goncalo Inacio and Antonio Silva.
The report has claimed that Liverpool scouted both Inacio and Silva during the Portuguese league game between Benfica and Sporting Lisbon this past weekend.
Inacio, 22, played for Sporting, while 20-year-old Silva turned out for Benfica. Both are centre-backs and both play for Portugal.
