Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has suggested he would buy Newcastle United if he had the money.
Posh chairman MacAnthony has impressed many football fans with his honest and forthright opinions, and one Newcastle supporter asked him to make an attempt to buy their club last night.
However, MacAnthony suggested that Peterborough are his priority at the moment, and he doesn’t have the £350 million required to buy Newcastle.
MacAnthony wrote: “If A. I didn’t currently own a club and B. Had a spare £350 mill hanging about…im in :)”
MacAnthony may not be bidding for Newcastle any time soon, but the club still faces a very uncertain future.
Newcastle have two potential buyers at the moment, with a takeover deal seemingly edging closer.

The Magpies are waiting for the Premier League to approve a group of Saudi-investors, with the deal taking months to go through.
Henry Mauriss is also thought to have made a rival offer for Newcastle now.
If Newcastle are bought out it will end Mike Ashley’s 13 year stay at the club.
