Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic has admitted that he is missing playing football, as he continues his comeback from injury.

Besic is set to be out until 2017, after he damaged his knee back in August while playing in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial.

The Bosnian only managed to play for 12 minutes before limping off, and scans confirmed that it was a serious injury.

Besic is yet to make a competitive appearance under new Everton boss Ronald Koeman, and the 23-year-old appears to be growing frustrated of spending time on the sidelines.

Some Everton fans were sympathetic with Besic’s current struggles, but others were less concerned. Here is some of the reaction to his latest tweet.

When Besic does return he will face competition to win a place in Everton’s first-team line-up.

Gareth Barry and Idrissa Gueye have formed a strong partnership in the heart of Everton’s midfield with Besic injured, which has helped Koeman’s side make an impressive start to the new campaign.
