Arsenal fans on Twitter are calling on their club to make a move for Lyon attacker Memphis Depay this summer.
Depay’s profile is at an all-time high right now after helping the Ligue 1 side into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Lyon eliminated Juventus on away goals last night and the Dutchman got the scoring underway within nine minutes, clipping home a lovely panenka from the penalty spot, humiliating poor Wojciech Szczesny in the process.
He is already on Arsenal’s radar if rumours are to be believed, as Le10 Sport in France claimed last month that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta ‘greatly appreciates’ the 26-year-old’s ability.

Is this going to happen? Well, no. Depay is predominantly a winger and Arsenal are already set to sign one of them in the form of Willian.
That’ll mean that Arteta has the Brazilian, Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel Martinelli as wide options, so a move for Depay simply makes zero sense, but it’s fun to dream.
