Wales fans praised Tottenham defender Joe Rodon after he helped his country to a crucial 1-0 win against Estonia on Monday evening.
It was a crucial three points for Wales in their World Cup qualifier, with the Tottenham man shining at the back for his country.
Rodon hasn’t earned the game time he would have liked at Spurs this season, or even towards the back end of the last campaign, but he is shining on the international stage.
It was a tough three points for Rob Page’s side, with Rodon being a rock at the back and acting like that leader at the heart of defence.
Wales fans loved what they saw from Rodon, who saved his side’s blushes on a number of occasions yesterday, especially during last-ditch situations.
The crying shame for Rodon is that he will now return to club duty and probably sit on the bench.
Rodon will, no doubt, be heading into the next set of international fixtures hoping to get his minutes up.
But, more than likely, that will only come in the League Cup and the Europa Conference League.
Either way, whenever he is on the pitch, the hard-hitting centre-back continues to shine bright.
