Tottenham fans on Twitter were impressed with Kieran Trippier’s performance last night after Atletico Madrid recorded a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last night.
The German side had already qualified for the knockout stages, so all the pressure was on the home team and Trippier helped them get off to a bright start.
Joao Felix opened the scoring before the half-hour mark, but with minutes left on the clock, a much-changed Bayern side equalised through Thomas Muller.
It now means that Atletico must avoid defeat in their final group game to qualify for the knockout stages.
But it seems as though life is going well for Trippier in Spain. He’s in his second full season at Atletico and is a regular under Diego Simeone.
Eyebrows were raised when the Englishman was allowed to leave Spurs last summer without any replacement for then-manager Mauricio Pochettino.

And it could be argued the two right-backs at the club now – Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier – would both be behind Trippier if he was still at the club.
Either way, it seems as though he is catching the eye against the best of the best and is being appreciated by those in North London.
Some did question how the technically gifted full-back would have faired under Jose Mourinho, who has Spurs sitting top of the tree in England’s top-flight.
