Ian Wright praised Mohamed Salah for showcasing his best form once again during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday at Anfield.
The legendary striker thinks Salah looked ‘much better’ down the middle for Liverpool and he loved how he was putting opposition players ‘under pressure’.
That was proved by the quite brilliant goal he scored in the first half when he well and truly did the usually-reliable Joao Cancelo like a kipper.

Just as the ball was going to be caught by Allison Becker following a cross, Salah was on his bike and bursting down the pitch for Liverpool.
The Egypt international took a genius touch that pushed him away from Cancelo, racing through on goal and then cooly lifting the ball over the on-rushing Ederson in between Manchester City’s sticks.
Wright spoke about how ‘everybody’ within Liverpool’s camp was being questioned before the game, but he is pleased Salah is firing again, as he told Premier League Productions (17/10/22 at 2:05 pm).
“Mo Salah going across into the middle, is much better,” said Wright. “You hope so (turning point for Salah). With Liverpool, it’s not just Mo that’s not playing well.
“Before this game (win against Man City), people were questioning Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho. They are questioning everybody.
“What you saw against Man City is that everybody’s game rose simply because it is Man City and you have to raise your game.
“They are quality players. Mo is in a position where he is in and around the centre, putting players under pressure like we saw with the goal against Cancelo and then he’s going to go through and score. That’s what he’s capable of doing.”

SALAH STANDS UP
It’s not been a great start for many Liverpool players this season and Salah, who also ended the previous campaign in a quiet fashion, is also one of them.
The 30-year-old seemed to find his spark against the Premier League champions, and with West Ham and Nottingham Forest on the horizon, they should be worried.
The Anfield faithful will be hoping the weekend’s win will be a much-needed kick up the backside for their players.
And with Premier League games now coming thick and fast, from sitting in the bottom half of the table, the Reds can, in next to no time, be back in the Champions League places.
