Wales secured their place in the knockout stages of Euro 2016 in style with a dominant win over a hapless Russia team last night.

First-half goals from Aaron Ramsey and Neil Taylor were complimented by a Gareth Bale strike in the second period to give Chris Coleman’s team the scoreline their performance deserved.

The scintillating display was a fitting way to earn top spot in the group after England failed to break down a dogged Slovakia team.

Wales reached the knockout stages of an international competition for the first time since 1958, when a Pele strike saw them exit the World Cup at the quarter-final stage.

They will now face a third-placed team from either group A, C or D in the last 16 and will fancy their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals.
