The Dutchman became Spurs’ second summer signing earlier today.
Vincent Janssen scores the for Netherlands
Tottenham today confirmed the capture of highly-rated Dutch striker Vincent Janssen, via the club’s official website.
The 22-year old arrives on a four-year deal from AZ Alkmaar for a fee of around £17 million – according to BBC Sport – and has wasted no time in getting to work, being snapped on the training ground earlier today.
Janssen was a breakthrough star in the Eredivisie last season and, after joining AZ from second-tier Almere City, he went on to score 31 goals in all competitions, earning the Johan Cruyff award in the process.
The talented frontman has scored a total of 63 times in his 123 senior club appearances and bagged three in his five caps for Holland so far, suggesting Spurs may have landed a real gem.
His main qualities are similar to that of Spurs golden boy Harry Kane in that he is effective at holding up play, strong in the air and accurate with either foot in front of goal.

Mauricio Pochettino will have to find a way to manage the ambitions of both players and rotate effectively or alternatively find a way to play them in the same XI.
However it plays out, their battle to become Tottenham’s leading man next season is sure to be an intriguing watch.
