The Algerian could be set to join Jamie Vardy at the Emirates in a sensational double swoop.

Arsenal are reportedly in talks to bring Leicester City star man Rihad Mahrez to the Emirates, according to The Sun.
The news comes as something of a surprise given that the Gunners are thought to be close to finalising a deal for fellow Fox Jamie Vardy, but it would signal a stark contrast in approach from manager Arsene Wenger.
Recent transfer windows have left Arsenal fans frustrated at the lack of activity from their club – most notably last summer, where Petr Cech was the sole arrival – but a new strategy now appears to be in place.

The Gunners have already secured the arrival of talented Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka and an announcement of Vardy’s arrival appears to be imminent. Adding Mahrez to that list would certainly be a statement of intent and would spell trouble for the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.
Mahrez enjoyed a fantastic season last term, with his 17 goals and 11 assists helping lead Leicester to an incredible Premier League triumph. If the reports prove accurate it would appear Wenger is hoping some of that title-winning magic will rub off on his team with the arrival of the Foxes’ two biggest stars.
