The West Ham United youngster has been linked with a permanent exit.

According to a report from the Mirror, West Ham United may sell Reece Oxford and a number of other talented youngsters in January to raise funds for a survival push. But that is frankly absurd and new Hammers boss David Moyes would be doing far more harm than good sanctioning such deals.
Oxford is an outstanding talent who proved, at the age of just 16, that he can handle the demands of Premier League football.

His senior West Ham debut against Arsenal proved his class and it is bizarre to think he has only managed 15 more first-team appearances for the Hammers since then.
Currently on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, Oxford’s career has stalled despite many at West Ham feeling he is a superstar in the making, and cashing in on him would be foolish in the extreme.
It could be argued that former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic dug his own grave by not putting his faith in the next generation, with Oxford, Toni Martinez and Nathan Holland all arguably ready for the step up and more deserving than some of the under-performing stars to have got them into their current predicament.

Oxford remains in Germany for now, but in time he should be trusted to make his mark at the London Stadium, not sold too soon.
Moyes’ tenure could be brief, but however long he remains at West Ham, he will want to be remembered for the right reasons, not for selling a player who could ultimately go down as one of their very best.
