Moyes says West Ham player has picked up injury in training

West Ham United boss David Moyes has told Football London that Sebastien Haller has picked up an injury in training.

Haller was unavailable yesterday, as West Ham staged a comeback against Tottenham Hotspur.

If the French striker was fit he may have been selected to come off the bench, as West Ham tried to find a route back into the game.

But, as it was, Manuel Lanzini was one of the bench players who were introduced.

The Argentine went on to score a rocket to equalise, and Moyes was pleased with the impact of his substitutes.

“Well the players who came on made a difference and helped us. We were pretty short, Seb Haller picked up an injury in training yesterday, Michail had a tight hamstring and I didn’t want to take any chances at that time so I changed it,” Moyes said.

The severity of Haller’s injury is not yet known, but West Ham will want him fit sooner rather than later.

Although Haller hasn’t been a starter for West Ham this term, he is a useful weapon to have from the bench, and Moyes’s striking options look short without him.
