Everton are again being linked with a move for Inter Milan midfielder Ever Banega.
Everton target Ever Banega
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton are interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Ever Banega, adding another chapter to a long-lasting rumour.
Banega, 28, joined Inter on a free transfer from Sevilla last summer, having won two Europa League titles with the Spanish outfit as he starred at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

The Argentinian playmaker failed to really hit the same heights with Inter last season, but did notch six goals and six assists in 28 appearances – and could be heading for the exit door this summer.
It’s suggested that Everton may now be keen to land Banega, eight years since former Toffees boss David Moyes failed with a move to bring him to Goodison Park.

As reported by the Daily Mail back in 2009, Everton failed with a move to sign Banega from Valencia, and the midfielder has continued to impress ever since, with the Toffees really missing out on him.
Now, Everton appear to be back in the hunt for Banega, but there have to be questions asked about whether he is still worth targeting eight years on from Moyes’ attempt to land him.

Banega turns 29 later this month and doesn’t have the huge career ahead of him that he had when Moyes targeted him, and Everton should be wary of spending considerable money on a player approaching 30 when they can instead invest their money on younger talents such as Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen.
In fact, Klaassen’s arrival from Ajax last week is another indication that Everton shouldn’t be pursuing Banega again. Manager Ronald Koeman – who briefly managed Banega at Valencia – now has Klaassen, Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin, James McCarthy, Tom Davies and even wantaway playmaker Ross Barkley at his disposal in midfield, meaning their money should be spent elsewhere, and the door should finally be closed on Banega to Everton rumours.
