The West Ham manager finds himself under intense pressure to succeed.

David Moyes’ tenure at West Ham United got off to a disappointing start with a 2-0 defeat away to Watford and there must be some concerns regarding whether the Scotsman will be able to stay in charge for the remainder of the campaign.
Although they are still in the Carabao Cup and have the possibility of going on a run in the FA Cup, avoiding relegation is certainly West Ham’s main focus this season and if Moyes is unable to live up to expectations it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if he was to be dismissed before the conclusion of the campaign.

Moyes will hope to get West Ham playing with greater cohesion and he faces some difficult selection decisions, with some of the club’s worst performers against Watford being some of their most high-profile names, such as Andy Carroll, Mark Noble and Joe Hart.
Next up for West Ham are games at home to Leicester City and away to Everton but following that Moyes must prepare his team for difficult fixtures away to Manchester City and at home to Chelsea.

Significant investment is certainly required in the January transfer window but Moyes will only have a limited timeframe to shape the squad in his image as he desperately seeks to preserve the club’s Premier League status.
Moyes has appointed several individuals with managerial experience amongst his coaching staff, including Stuart Pearce, Alan Irvine and Billy McKinlay.
Should Moyes be dismissed then it is possible that Pearce could step into the void and be tasked with keeping West Ham up.
