West Ham United have confirmed the release of Doneil Henry.

West Ham United have confirmed on their official website that they have released defender Doneil Henry after the two parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old, who is a 22-time Canada international, joined West Ham from Everton’s 2017-18 Europa League opponents Apollon Limassol back in January 2015 but has managed just one appearance for the Hammers’ senior side.

That outing came in the Europa League against Romanian club Astra Giurgiu, and was subsequently loaned out to League One side Blackburn Rovers on two occasions as well as Danish outfit AC Horsens.
During his loan spell in Denmark, Henry ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and returned early from the loan in November 2016, which has seen him fail to play for even the Hammers second string this season.

With his contract at the London Stadium set to expire in the summer, the club have decided to mutually terminate Henry’s current deal just two weeks before the January transfer window.
Henry, who has made 93 senior appearances for MLS side Toronto, is now likely to be concentrating on getting fit and looking for a new home in January as a free agent.
