West Ham United wide man Said Benrahma could be on the move in 2024 with a switch to Saudi Arabia now in the pipeline.
David Moyes has reportedly held talks with the agents of Said Benrahma ahead of a potential West Ham United exit.
That is according to The Sun, who claim that Benrahma could be on the move to Saudi Arabia in 2024.
West Ham splashed £30million on Benrahma in 2020, made up of a £5million Ioan fee, £20million for a permanent deal and £5million in add-ons.
Benrahma was a magician for Brentford in the Championship but has been a little hot and cold during his time in the Premier League.
Said Benrahma could leave West Ham United for Saudi Arabia
The Sun claim that Benrahma could leave in 2024 with his agent now potentially engineering a move to Saudi Arabia.
It’s stated that Benrahma recently signed with a new agent who is ‘well-connected’ with top Saudi Arabian clubs.
David Moyes recently met for face-to-face talks with Benrahma’s new agent and a January move may be in the pipeline.
The report adds that West Ham may accept an offer for Benrahma in January even with a busy schedule this season due to Europa League action.
Time may be up for Benrahma at West Ham
Benrahma’s starts have been gradually declining at West Ham.
26 league starts in the 2021-22 season, 22 last season and just four so far this term.
The 28-year-old has played 16 times in all competitions this season but has yet to find the net, notching two assists along the way.
Benrahma clearly doesn’t have a key role under Moyes anymore, with more focus on the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen.
Benrahma’s contract expires in 2026, so West Ham aren’t under pressure to sell, but may feel that the time is right.
Selling Benrahma would bring in funds for Moyes to spend elsewhere, which could be vital with another striker needed.
Moyes will have to weigh up his squad depth given West Ham’s packed schedule but selling Benrahma will be very appealing come January.
