David Moyes wanted West Ham target William Carvalho at Manchester United.

David Moyes was appointed as West Ham manager this week with the aim of dragging the side up the table after their poor start to the season.
There are conflicting reports over how much he will have to spend in January, with it suggested he may have to sell to buy.
One player they came close to spending big money on in the summer was William Carvalho, the highly touted Sporting Club de Portugal midfielder.

Carvalho is particularly interesting to new manager David Moyes, as he almost managed him at Manchester United.

Moyes held talks with Carvalho’s agent and the move was expected to be a formality before he was fired, and replacement Louis van Gaal decided against bringing him in.
It will be particularly disappointed to Moyes now that West Ham failed to sign the defensive midfielder this summer, but providing the funds can be made available, a second look from the manager and club look inevitable.
