David Moyes has confirmed that West Ham United have received an offer for Craig Dawson from Wolves, but are yet to accept it.

On Thursday, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook had claimed that the English defender was open to joining Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Just a couple of days ago as well, the Telegraph had reported that Wolves were set to bid for once-David Moyes favourite, Craig Dawson.

The Times had also interestingly revealed that Lopetegui was keen on building a British core at the club, which seems to have piqued his interest in signing the £45,000-a-week centre-back in January.

Considering Dawson would end up leaving on a free transfer in the summer, Moyes must be resigned to losing him to Wolves imminently.

Since initially joining the Hammers on loan in 2020, the 32-year-old has been ‘unbelievable’, as described by Michail Antonio on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily podcast in April last year.

Wolves-bound Dawson is an old-school centre-back, blessed with an adept sense of spotting danger and beastly physicality that has made him the perfect fit in the Moyes system.

However, it seems as if his departure from East London is imminent.

Ahead of his side’s upcoming encounter against Julen Lopetegui’s side, David Moyes has confirmed that West Ham have received an offer for Craig Dawson from Wolves.

“We’ve had an offer from Wolves and at the moment we haven’t accepted it”, the Irons boss said, as quoted by the Athletic’s Roshane Thomas.

Ultimately, it is set to be a big loss for David Moyes and West Ham to lose the reliable defender to Wolves in January.

Considering the ex-Real Sociedad manager has confirmed all the rumours around the proposal seems to point towards an inevitable exit.
