David Moyes has admitted to Football London that he was disappointed with West Ham United defender Issa Diop in their 2-2 draw with Newcastle United yesterday.
West Ham twice led, but they were unable to hold on to their advantage for long on either occasion.
Newcastle’s second equaliser was particularly galling for Moyes, as he felt his side could have defended the opportunity far better.
Diop opted to try and pressurise Dwight Gayle on the edge of the box, which allowed the striker to find an easy return pass to Jonjo Shelvey, who finished comfortably.
And Moyes said: “I am more more disappointed that the centre-back’s squeezed up on Gayle when they should have seen where Gayle was. Fornals worked hard to stop the cross.”

If West Ham could have held on to claim the three points it would have been a huge step closer to survival.
However, even the point has aided their relegation fight – with West Ham now sat four points clear of the drop zone.
Moyes’s side are next in action on Wednesday evening, when they take on Burnley and they will be eager to extend their unbeaten run.
