David Moyes has admitted one thing that’s ‘difficult’ about working with Tomáš Souček and Vladimir Coufal at West Ham.
In his column for the Evening Standard, the Hammers boss wrote: ‘It’s difficult to keep Tomas and his Czech team-mate Vladimir Coufal away from the training ground, such is their appetite to keep improving — and that is the type of character I am seeking as we try to strengthen this month.’
If this is the only thing Moyes finds ‘difficult’ about managing the Czech Republic internationals, then that’s excellent news for the Irons.
It sounds as if both Souček and Coufal are excellent professionals, with Moyes outlining the duo’s appetite to keep improving.
The Scot adds that he’s seeking more characters like the former Slavia Prague pair, and that comes as absolutely no surprise to us.
Since the two arrived in east London, they have been nothing short of superb for West Ham.
Souček has netted eight goals in 30 games, including some vital, match-winning strikes. His late efforts against Fulham and Everton this season spring to mind.
In Coufal’s case, the right-back was recently earmarked as ‘one to watch’ by the Premier League’s official website.
As they state, the 28-year-old registered three assists and three clean sheets in his first 11 appearances.
At one point, Coufal was second only to Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson in terms of chances created among defenders, as the Premier League reveal.
Both have been incredible additions to West Ham.
If Moyes can find two or three more like the Czech Republic internationals, the Hammers could become a real force.
