Tony Mowbray has raved about Leeds United’s performance during their 3-1 win against his Blackburn side and claimed that Luke Ayling ‘must have been in our box 100 times’.

It would have been difficult for Mowbray to watch his Rovers side slump to a defeat, but he was mightly impressed with the ‘attitude’ shown by Marcelo Bielsa’s men, as he told Leeds Live.

As per, it was another dominant display from the Championship leaders, with Kalvin Phillips’ stunning free-kick being a standout moment.

Nontheless, Mowbray was full of praise for the Yorkshire giants, as he commented on how many times the promotion hopefuls managed to get into the Rovers box.

“They came with an attitude and belief they are going to win football matches,” said Mowbray. “Spend a lot of time in our box. Ayling must have been in our box 100 times.

“Gap wasn’t massive. Felt we could have got something, but didn’t. Not enough to beat Leeds United, but frustrating. We missed chances.”

Ever since Bielsa walked through the Elland Road doors 24 months ago, the style of play he has brought to the club and to the Championship has been one of pure entertainment.

Whilst Leeds haven’t been rewarded with promotion to the Premier League yet. There is no doubt that they have been the top performers in the second-tier since he arrived.
