Is controversial Arsenal to Tottenham move really worth it for Calum Chambers?

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has been linked with making a shock move to rivals Tottenham [The Mail].
Chambers worked with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, who is said to be keen on trying to get him to switch North London clubs.
Chambers has been on loan at Middlesbrough this season, where he has benefited from playing regular football.
The youngster has three international caps for England, but fell out of favour at Arsenal early in the season before being sent out for the season.

Moving to play under Pochettino could be good for him in theory, but the reality is that Chambers would be vilified for making the switch.
If his popularity among Arsenal fans was questionable before, he would be a figure of derision, and hated more with every accomplishment.
On a personal level Chambers would have to be a big character to handle the pressure, and inviting the kind of scrutiny such a switch would bring, would not provide a harmonious environment in which to achieve his potential.
Perhaps most importantly, moving to Spurs would leave Chambers no better off.
He would only be a back up to Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, while Spurs academy prospect Cameron Carter-Vickers could easily usurp him in the pecking order.
