Steven Gerrard has said that it is time for Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Harry Kane to leave Spurs.
The Liverpool legend made the comments about Kane on Channel 4 (8:40pm, March 23, 2023) after the Tottenham striker scored for England against Italy in Naples on Friday evening.
The 29-year-old striker scored England’s second goal against Italy in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier.
Kane found the back of the net in the first half from the penalty spot.
It saw Kane become England’s all-time top scorer with 54 goals.
And former England international midfielder Gerrard believes that it is time for Kane to leave Tottenham in the summer of 2023.
Manchester United have been linked with the striker.
Steven Gerrard on Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane
Gerrard said about Kane: “You are talking about greatness, you are talking about one of the best number 9s in the world right now.
“That’s the reason why every transfer window, he is ahead in terms of all the talks because, you know, maybe it is time, maybe it is time for him to move on.”

HITC Verdict: Harry Kane should stay at Spurs
In our view, Harry Kane should stay at Tottenham Hotspur and continue to play for the club he has spent his entire professional career so far.
Yes, Manchester United are a massive club, but there is no guarantee that Kane could win the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League with the Red Devils.
Bayern Munich have also been linked, but leaving for the Bundesliga would mean that Kane would not get to become the all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League
