Celtic are reportedly keen on Deportivo La Coruna’s Fabian Schar.

Celtic are potentially 90 minutes away from securing a second straight domestic treble under Brendan Rodgers, with Motherwell standing in their way of winning the Scottish Cup.
The Bhoys are set to cement their dominance of Scottish football, and the challenge for boss Rodgers will be to build Celtic into a European force too.
In order to do that, Rodgers will need quality additions during the summer transfer window, and defensive reinforcements should be a priority even after landing Marvin Compper and Jack Hendry in January.
Now, Spanish newspaper El Desmarques report that Celtic want to sign Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabian Schar, in what could be a perfect bargain for the Bhoys.

It’s claimed that Schar, 26, has a £3.5million release clause in his contract upon relegation from La Liga, and subsequently looks set to leave Depor just a year after arriving from Hoffenheim.
Celtic are allegedly keen, and it would be the ideal signing for Rodgers. Schar is of a good age at 26, possessing great experience as well as room to grow, he has international pedigree with Swizterland, he can play out from the back as Celtic love to do, and he would fit right into the Bhoys’ budget.
Given that Schar is so ideal for Celtic, Rodgers can’t afford to wait around. At just £3.5million, a host of other clubs are bound to be interested in the former Basel man, and Celtic need to make their move now.
With Schar set to feature at the World Cup, he has the platform to show what a bargain he can be – and the longer Celtic wait, the more their chances of signing Schar will dwindle.
