Manchester United fans would have found some form of happiness from their 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday.
This wasn’t a case of the team celebrating a draw, but perhaps enjoying the fact that they have played three games against their bitter rivals and haven’t been beaten.
One thing is for sure, it has put a dent in Liverpool’s title chances in what is Jurgen Klopp’s final campaign at the club.
But it still shouldn’t hide away from the shambles at Manchester United and the constant talk of Erik ten Hag’s future.
Whilst many question if the Dutchman will leave at the end of the campaign, will any big-name players follow suit?
Wayne Rooney questioned if it’s time for Marcus Rashford to head for the exit door, even if he has ‘all the attributes to be a top world-class player’, as he told Premier League Productions (07/04/24 at 3:10 pm).
The legendary striker made it clear that he wants Rashford to win trophies at Old Trafford, but stated that he ‘doesn’t look happy’ and the ‘best option’ could be for the player to ‘move away’.
It has been another below-par season from the 26-year-old, who has scored seven Premier League goals this term, after scoring 17 the previous campaign.
Even Rashford himself can’t deny that it’s beyond poor, with Rooney eager for it to work out.
Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United
“He has had a very difficult season,” said Rooney. “We all know he has got the ability and got all the attributes to be a top world-class player. That’s the frustrating thing.
“Last season, he went and scored a lot of goals. But this season, he hasn’t kicked on. He doesn’t look happy when he is playing. You wonder, is his best option to move away from the club and have a fresh start?
“But he is a Manchester lad. I would love to see him get his career back on track at the club, go on to score goals and try to help the club win trophies. But he certainly has had a difficult season.”

A fresh start for all at Manchester United
Debate about the manager all you want. Man United need a clear out of players this summer, regardless of what happens.
It seems likely that they won’t secure Champions League football and even possibly end the season trophyless.
Even if they achieve any of those things, it will just paper over the cracks of the real problems at the club – the players.
There needs to be a clear out from top to bottom because there are far too many players, who have been at the club for years and years, that can’t be trusted anymore.
And the only best option is to wave them goodbye and start afresh!
