Ryan Giggs has told Matchday Live that Tottenham’s front three of Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Gareth Bale now looks ‘mouthwatering’ following the Welshman’s return to the club.

Spurs announced yesterday evening that Bale had re-joined the Premier League side on a loan deal from Real Madrid, where he had been frozen out.

Bale isn’t fit to play for Jose Mourinho yet, but when he does, he will be looking to form a pretty tasty front three.

Given that Giggs is the manager of Wales, he’s clearly pleased that Bale has returned and will earn some much-needed game time ahead of Euro 2021.

“It’s good to have him back in the Premier League,” Giggs told Matchday Live. “We want to see the best players in the world in the Premier League, it will be interesting to see how he does.

“It looks mouthwatering – Son, Kane and Bale. They have so many good players at Tottenham. I am really looking forward to seeing how he does.

“It’s a huge boost when you see someone like that walk through the door. They got off to a disappointing start to the season, but to see him fit and firing. He will score goals. He’ll make assists. He’ll be a massive lift. I’m sure the Tottenham fans cannot wait to see him.

On what Spurs should aim for now: “Top four they have to be looking at and winning something. I think Jose’s won something wherever he has been. Tottenham haven’t done that for a while.”

The quicker Bale can get back onto the pitch, the more chance they will have in securing Champions League football and a trophy.

Spurs are still in the League Cup, Europa League and FA Cup (which starts in January), and they have to make sure it remains like that until Bale gets back onto the pitch.

The last thing Mourinho needs is for side to be out of Europe and the League Cup by the time Bale can kick a ball in North London.
