Tottenham Hotspur have a wonderful new workhorse in their team.

When Tottenham Hotspur signed Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United in the final moments of the summer transfer window, Spurs fans would have been forgiven for wondering why they bothered.
After all, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino already had plenty of midfield options and Sissoko had failed to help the Magpies secure their Premier League safety the previous season, scoring just a single goal and setting up eight more in 37 appearances.

Tottenham fans hoping for a new creative force in midfield may be left slightly disappointed. However Sissoko’s performance against Manchester City on Sunday showed they are getting something different but equally important.
The France international was superb down the right side for Spurs as they inflicted City’s first defeat of the campaign. His work rate was simply incredible and he blocked off that side of the pitch in style while working in tandem with Kyle Walker.

On this evidence, the Tottenham pair are already forming a wonderful partnership and one that could lead to considerable success for Pochettino’s side.
Prior to his arrival Spurs fans may not have been aware of Sissoko’s engine and passion but they are now, and if he keeps putting in performances like he did at the weekend, he will soon become un-droppable.
