Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been quoted as saying by Football.London and The London Evening Standard that he does not want to leave the club.
Sissoko joined Tottenham from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £30 million.
The France international midfielder has struggled to play regularly for Spurs so far this season, but he has insisted that he is happy at the North London outfit.
“I’m not leaving Tottenham at the moment,” The London Evening Standard quotes Sissoko as saying on an Instagram video. “I’m very happy.”
“No, I’m not leaving Tottenham at the moment,” Football.London quotes the Frenchman as saying.
Tottenham fans may not be happy
Sissoko has been largely a squad player this season, and it does not look likely that he will be able to make himself a regular for the first team.
Tottenham fans may not be too pleased to know that the former Toulouse star does not want to leave in the summer.
Spurs would not get £30m if they decide to part company with the Frenchman, but they could get £15m to £20m.
That money could be invested in signing a quality striker, but if Sissoko does not leave, then Tottenham would have to find the funds another way.
