Sissoko’s improvement was personified by his performance in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Chelsea at Wembley.
The France international was outstanding in defence and attack, and he should have registered his second assist of the Premier League season, but Kane fluffed his lines after the former Newcastle United winger put it on a plate for him.
And Sissoko has joked on Instagram that Kane needs to convert the next chance that he fashions for him, claiming he needs the assists.
It’s a message that illustrates Sissoko’s own feel-good factor at the moment.
The next two games can complete Sissoko’s transformation. Pochettino’s side host Inter Milan in a must-win Champions League game this week, before visiting Arsenal in first North London derby of the season on Sunday.
They’re two massive matches for Tottenham, but if Sissoko does the business in both then it would solidify his status as a major player for Pochettino – finally.
