Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has suggested to The Daily Mail that he will be at the club next season.

Sissoko has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in the summer transfer window, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce reported by Sabah Sport to be keeping tabs on the former Newcastle United midfielder (click here to read more).

The 28-year-old midfielder, though, has suggested that he wants to be at Tottenham for the 2018-19 campaign.

The France international – who earns £80,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has also defended his performances for Tottenham since his move from Newcastle in the summer of 2016.

Sissoko told The Daily Mail: “I think my first season here wasn’t easy. I came late, I didn’t have pre-season and it was a new challenge for me. But last year I played a lot of games and I did well – like the team.

“This year is going to be the same. I will try to play more and I will try to do better and better. I’m happy with everyone here. The staff are always happy with me so I’ll try to keep going.”

Adding squad depth

Sissoko has failed to convince a lot of Tottenham fans, and it is clear the Frenchman is a squad player when everyone is fit.

The midfielder, though, is an experienced Premier League midfielder, and if Tottenham are to challenge for the league title next season and go far in the Champions League, then they need players like him who can add depth to the squad.
