Tottenham Hotspur’s season went from bad to worse on Saturday.

If there was one Tottenham Hotspur player who could hold his head high after Saturday’s defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, it was Moussa Sissoko.
Despite starting the game in an unfamiliar right-back role, Sissoko was arguably Spurs’ best player on an otherwise horrendous afternoon for the North Londoners.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 3-0 at The Amex, compounding the misery after Tuesday’s 7-2 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
In addition to falling 13 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, Tottenham also lost goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for two months [ESPN] after the French goalkeeper dislocated his elbow in the error which led to Brighton taking a first-half lead.
Yep, the Lilywhites have had better weeks, but Sissoko is the only player to address the crisis on Twitter.
He wrote: “We are currently in a difficult period and no one is happy with this situation. It’s not a lack of desire on our part, neither of the staff nor the club, quite the contrary!
“In sport as in everyday life, some moment are difficult but we have to accept them, face them and come out bigger and stronger. We will only succeed in reversing the trend if we all do it together.
“I am sorry for the fans not to show the true face of the Spurs and all our qualities in these last games. But with our desire to turn the page on this difficult period and then your support, it isalltogether that we will succeed in changing the situation and moving forward again. Let us remain united and move forward.”
And suffice to say that Tottenham fans were blown away by his message. Here’s how many reacted on Twitter:
