Tottenham Hotspur booked their ticket to the quarter-final of the Champions League with a second-leg victory.
Moussa Sissoko has taken to Twitter to react after Spurs booked their place in the quarter-final of the Champions League with an impressive second-leg victory against Borussia Dortmund – and the Frenchman needed just two words to sum up the performance nicely.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men would not have been surprised that their task during the first-half in the Westfalenstadion was to soak up pressure as Dortmund looked for a lifeline following their 3-0 defeat at Wembley.
Spurs did their job superbly, and quashed any hope the Bundesliga high-flyers had of producing a stunning comeback as Harry Kane scored what proved to be the game’s only goal during the early stages of the second-half.
There was much less further pressure from Dortmund after the break, who would have probably been deflated after the goal. Spurs now find themselves in the last eight of the competition for the first time since 2011.
Pochettino’s side may have been somewhat overshadowed by the incredible performance from Ajax in the Bernabeu on the same night, but their dismantling of their opponents over the two legs was arguably just as impressive.
And the professionalism that they showed to ensure that Dortmund did not get close to setting up a nervy finish has been reflected in Sissoko’s tweet.
The Frenchman provided the assist for Kane’s winner on Tuesday, and his brief message definitely hit the nail on the head…
