And the powerful midfielder admits that things peaked for him at Newcastle very early on.
In total Sissoko made 133 appearances for Newcastle, scoring on 12 occasions.
The 29-year-old was fairly inconsistent during his time on Tyneside, before getting a move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2016.
It has taken Sissoko a long time to find his feet at White Hart Lane, but he is now in flying form.
Sissoko has been one of Tottenham’s key players this term, and he only narrowly missed out of Heung-Min Son in the battle for the north London side’s Player of the Season award.
