Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has turned around his career this season.

It is not just his club career which is back on track.

Sissoko was called back into the France squad earlier this Autumn, despite it appearing like his career with Les Bleus would be over.

The Spurs midfielder was not selected for France’s World Cup squad, a totally justifiable decision.

He did not do enough last season to make it, and France went on to win Russia 2018 without him.

Usually after big tournaments it becomes even more difficult for older players to work their way into international squads.

Sissoko is 29, and often after a World Cup, managers start looking to the future.

Even if Sissoko was part of the French squad at the World Cup, it would have been difficult for him.

So his recent recall was testament to his excellent club form.

Sissoko is an asset to Spurs, and recently shone in the Nou Camp in the draw with Barcelona.

He looks like a star, and fully deserves to still be a part of Didier Deschamps plans.
