Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has suggested to The Guardian that the club’s fans’ attitude towards him has changed.

Sissoko is playing well for Tottenham at the moment and has established himself as an important player in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

The 29-year-old midfielder struggled to make an impact Spurs during his debut season in 2016-17 following his move from Newcastle United.

The France international has suggested that he has noticed a change in attitude of Tottenham fans towards him this season.

Sissoko told The Guardian: “The fans talk to me differently now, although even when it wasn’t a great time for me, they weren’t bad with me on the street. Now I can see they are very happy because I’m doing well.”

Important player

Sissoko did well during his time at Newcastle, but the main problem with the Frenchman was his lack of consistency.

The 29-year-old former Toulouse star has found a certain level of consistency in recent weeks, and Spurs fans will hope that he now maintains it.

With Tottenham challenging for the Premier League title and also competing in the knockout rounds of the Champions League this season, Sissoko will play an important role for Spurs in the coming months.
