Tottenham midfielder says he is pleased for Newcastle United.

Spurs beat Newcastle 2-0 on the opening day but Rafa Benitez’s side have bounced back and they sit ninth in the table after seven games.
Sissoko may have had a mixed time at Newcastle, but he has no ill feeling towards his former club.

Quizzed about Newcastle, Sissoko said: “I’m very happy for them because Newcastle is a club that deserves to be where it is currently.
“They are making a good start to the season, although the first two games were complicated. But they got better.
“Yesterday they made 1-1 against Liverpool. I wish them good luck. They earn points. They are well ranked. I hope that they will have a good season.”

Newcastle earned £30 million from Sissoko’s sale and he struggled in his debut season at Spurs.
He has improved this season and scored his first goal for Tottenham at the weekend.
Sissoko has regained his place in the France international squad after missing the previous round of matches.
