Moussa Sissoko asked which Tottenham goal surprised him more

Tottenham Hotspur had Serge Aurier and Son Heung-min to thank as they moved back into the Premier League’s top four.

Moussa Sissoko has told Tottenham’s official website that he was more surprised by the fact that Son Heung-min scored a header than by Serge Aurier’s bizarre goal during their win over Brighton on Wednesday.

Spurs got themselves back in the top four in the Premier League, but somewhat struggled to put the Seagulls away at Wembley needing goals late on in each half to secure a 2-0 victory.

The first came five minutes before half-time when Aurier’s cross managed to loop over Mathew Ryan and in at the far post, while the second saw Son bag his fourth in as many games when he headed home with three minutes to go.

But despite the somewhat fortuitous nature of the right-back’s opener, Sissoko suggested that the South Korea international’s goal was the one that took him aback more.

“It’s difficult! I will say Sonny,” he told the club’s official website.

“Since I’ve been here it’s the first goal with his head, so it was a surprise. I’ve known Serge since I was in France and he scored a few goals with his feet, so I will say Sonny was lucky today!”

While the nature of Son’s goal may have surprised Sissoko, it will be absolutely no surprise to him that the forward got onto the scoresheet once again as he has been fantastic all season.

The 25-year-old now has eight goals to his name in all competitions and, as already mentioned, has been blistering lately. And Mauricio Pochettino would undoubtedly be delighted if he can extend the run by one more game as they travel to Manchester City at the weekend hoping to end their sensational run in the league.
