Tottenham Hotspur signed Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United back in 2016.

Moussa Sissoko has admitted to the Hampstead and Highgate Newspaper that he didn’t know Tottenham Hotspur’s long-term plans before signing.

Sissoko joined Spurs for £30 million from Newcastle United back in 2016, as valued by the Chronicle, and he was blind to the expectations of the club when arrived.

Sissoko now says that he knows Tottenham have lofty ambitions of winning the Premier League title.

And he hopes to be part of the Spurs team which starts to deliver silverware.

“It’s only my second season here so, in the past, I don’t know what the plan was of this big club,” Sissoko said.

“Since I’m here I know what they want – they want to win titles, so that’s what we’re trying to do.”

Sissoko has failed to convince during his time at Tottenham so far, with the French international often questioned by supporters.

Sissoko endured a miserable first campaign at Spurs, and despite an improvement this time around, he has still not won over all the doubters.

Sissoko started for Tottenham in their 1-1 draw with West Ham United last night, but he failed to impress.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup.
