Celtic were forced into selling striker Moussa Dembele to Lyon back on deadline day in August – and he has shown some promise back in France so far.

Dembele, 22, hit 51 goals in 94 games for Celtic following a 2016 move from Fulham, becoming a star at Parkhead before returning to France this past summer.

The striker has been in and out of Bruno Genesio’s side given the attacking options at his disposal, but he has shown enough to suggest that he can be a key player in the future.

Dembele has played 14 games for Lyon, notching five goals and two assists, which is rather impressive when you factor in that only nine of his games have been as a starter.

Now, CIES Football Observatory have released their latest analysis into player valuations, and Dembele is one of the players profiled having made his move just months ago.

They note that Dembele’s value has risen, but only to around €12.4million, which converts to around £11.2million, meaning Celtic’s deal to sell Dembele currently looks great.

As reported by The Independent, Celtic sold Dembele for £20million, and whilst a fair amount of that fee will have been based on potential, the Bhoys landed themselves around double what CIES believe Dembele is currently worth.
